Attending were EPC members Chris Patterson, Catherine Hartman, John Richey, and Jan Moore. New Business

1.      Evendale Bicycle Master Plan
Dave Nichols, Stiney Vonderhaar, and Michelle Gottschlich presented the proposed Evendale Bicycle Master Plan.  The plan strives to connect Evendale with surrounding communities and enhance the well-being of residents.   A key goal for the plan is to develop a paved bicycle/walking trail (3.1 miles) along the Mill Creek.  Estimated cost is $3 million dollars which may be funded by a combination of government and non-profit grants.   Questions were raised concerning permitting by the Army Corp of Engineers and FEMA.  The three bridges in the floodway may be an issue.  The master plan representatives said they are working with MSD and other agencies to gain alignment.

Catherine Hartman made the following motion:

The Village of Evendale Planning Commission is in support of the Recreation Department's Bicycle Master Plan (prepared by URS, August 30, 2013) and recommends that the Evendale Village Council adopt the plan.  The Planning Commission recognizes the importance of the master plan's objectives for enhancing active transportation, thereby eliciting improvement to recreation, health, safety, regional connectivity, quality of life, environment and economics for Evendale residents, neighboring communities and business partners.  Accordingly, the Planning Commission supports on-going efforts to further the plan's strategic priorities.

John Richey seconded and the motion passed 4-0.
